The verdict in three sentences

If you are a sports club, federation, brand, university, or agency and you want a fully branded esports platform under your own domain, Netgen is your only option at an accessible price. Toornament has no white-label offer for your organization. Their Platform plan at €2,199/month is reserved for game studios. Even at that price, no AI. No marketing automation. No social login on the tournament platform. Their Organizer plans, up to Arena at €229/month, keep Toornament branding on your pages. No data ownership. Netgen Essentials at €699/month gives you full white-label ownership, Fluxion AI, marketing automation, social login, PWA, data ownership, and ISO 27001 certified infrastructure. Available to any organization.

01

White-label and brand ownership

White-label means the platform runs under your domain. Your logo, your colors. Players do not see a provider brand anywhere. The data is yours. Somebody else's logo on your tournament pages matters more than most companies admit. It is the difference between your venue and a rented stall.

Tournament formats and game support

A platform should handle your competition format, not force your event to fit the tool. Both products cover the standard brackets. The difference is philosophy. Netgen is game-agnostic: add any title in minutes from the admin panel, no publisher integration required. Toornament ships with 400+ pre-configured games. If your game is in their library, setup is faster. If it is not, you wait.

AI-powered operations: Fluxion AI vs nothing

This is the biggest gap between the two products. Fluxion AI automates four workflows that Toornament requires manual work for. Every plan. At scale, the time savings compound. A dozen tournaments a month with manual score checks is a real cost in someone's time. Even Toornament's Platform plan at €2,199/month has no AI.

Marketing automation: built-in vs none

Running tournaments at scale means communicating at scale. Registration emails, match reminders, bracket updates, sponsor announcements. Do this manually and you burn hours. Pay for a separate tool and you add cost. Netgen includes full marketing automation on every plan. Toornament has none. Run Toornament, you need a separate marketing stack.

Payments and monetization

Both platforms charge 0% commission on entry fees. You keep every euro from players. The difference is everything else you can sell. Netgen handles recurring subscriptions, free entry vouchers for sponsors, and automatic VAT per country. Toornament handles paid entry and stops there.

Player and team experience

Players come back if the experience is good. They do not if it is not. Social login removes sign-up friction. A PWA means checking brackets from a phone without installing anything. Match lobby chat keeps communication on your platform instead of Discord. Netgen's social login works on the tournament platform itself. Toornament added social login to their Website Builder, but the core tournament platform still requires a Toornament account.

FeatureNetgenToornament

Infrastructure, security and compliance

Your platform holds player data, payment details, and competition records. Infrastructure is a trust commitment, not a technical footnote. Netgen runs on non-GAFAM, ISO 27001 certified datacenters with a 99.9% SLA, DDoS protection, automatic backups, and 24/7 monitoring. Toornament publishes none of this. For organizations with compliance requirements, that gap matters.

Content management and publishing

A tournament platform without a CMS means juggling a separate website for news, announcements, and community content. Netgen has a built-in CMS on every plan. Publish articles and sponsor content directly on your branded platform. Fluxion AI writes the articles if you want it to. Toornament has no CMS.

API and broadcast integration

If you produce live broadcasts, the connection between tournament data and on-screen graphics is what makes a production look professional. Both platforms have APIs and live display capability. Netgen's broadcast API feeds match scores into overlays automatically on every plan. Toornament TV does the same on Arena (€229/mo+).

Support, onboarding and time-to-launch

This is where self-service and hands-on diverge. Netgen deploys your platform in under a week, configures your brand and payment gateways, and provides chat and AI support. Toornament is self-service. You build and configure everything yourself. Different expectations, different approaches.
